Muttiah Muralitharan was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore at a base price of Rs one crore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2014.
Clearly the franchises do not think much of past records. One should have expected the franchises to go frantic over him, but no one surprisingly seemed keen (what is it about this season’s IPL and Sri Lankan cricketers?).
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finally decided to go for the legendary off-spinner — one of the finest in history.
They managed to acquire Muralitharan for the almost ridiculous base price of Rs one crore. Will Muralitharan turn out to be the best purchase of the season?
