Ryan ten Doeschate has been picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 1 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 auction.

Ten Doeschate is the only player from the Associate world to be sold on Day Two of the auction. Kevin O’Brien and Niall O’Brien from Ireland went unsold.

Ten Doeschate is a handy all-rounder. He is a hard-hitting batsman and a wicket-taking bowler. Thus, he is an ideal suit for the format and it would have been a surprise had he not been picked. He almost didn’t as the auctioneer only notice the bid very late.

Ten Doeschate was at Kolkata during the three previous editions of IPL.
