Ahmedabad: May 15, 2014

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils in Ahmedabad on Thursday saw Narendra Modi supporters cheering for the BJP prime ministerial candidate and shouting slogans in his favour.

Around 400 Modi supporters, wearing saffron caps with the message ‘Modi for PM’ and seated across the stadium, kept up the ‘Modi-Modi’ chant from the start.

One of the supporters, Ravi said, “We are here to cheer for Modi as he is going to become the prime minister tomorrow.”

Another Modi fan said, “When Delhi Daredevils‘s captain won the toss, we cheered ‘Modi Modi’. When the rain disrupted the match we cheered for him (Modi). When the RR team player hit the first boundary or when they lost the wicket even then we were cheering for our leader.”
