DD looked unstoppable for the most part, recording massive one-sided victories against the likes of defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), etc. Their run was finally stopped when they ran into KKR in the first play-off, before suffering a massive 86-run defeat at the hands of CSK in the second playoff to record their most heartbreaking exit in the tournament’s history.
