Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been sold to the Gujarat Lions (GL) in the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. Karthik has been one of the most talented wicketkeeper-batsmen in Indian cricket, however, who sufferes mostly due to the inconsistent form and has played for a number of franchise in the league, as  he fetches Rs. 2.3 crores from GL. The 2016 IPL Auction is underway in Bengaluru on Sunday, as eight of the teams are going head to head to make the best signing of players for their respective teams, who would clash in the 2016 season (season 9) of the 2016 IPL. The season has a couple of surprises as a couple of the oldest franchise in the league in the form of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been suspended, leading to the entry of a couple of new teams in the form of Rising Pune Superkings (RPS) and Gujarat Lions (GL). Gujarat Lions recently appointed Suresh Raina as their captain. Raina was part of the banned outfit Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for eight seasons and for the first time he will play for a different franchise. Brad Hodge has been appointed the coach of the franchise. Hodge is one of the most experienced T20 players in the world and his knowledge, insights about the game will surely be well received.
