Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Smason has been sold to the Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. Sanju has been a relaible wicketkeeper-batsmen in the recent days and has also been coming of late in the deomestic season this season with some good records, as he fetches Rs. 4.2 crores for DD. The 2016 IPL Auction is underway in Bengaluru on Sunday, as eight of the teams are going head to head to make the best signing of players for their respective teams, who would clash in the 2016 season (season 9) of the 2016 IPL. The season has a couple of surprises as a couple of the oldest franchise in the league in the form of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been suspended, leading to the entry of a couple of new teams in the form of Rising Pune Superkings (RPS) and Gujarat Lions (GL). The Delhi Daredevils had produced their strongest performance during the 2012 season of India’s premier franchise-based T20 league when they won 11 out of their 16 round-robin games to finish on top of the points table. DD looked unstoppable for the most part, recording massive one-sided victories against the likes of defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), etc. Their run was finally stopped when they ran into KKR in the first play-off, before suffering a massive 86-run defeat at the hands of CSK in the second playoff to record their most heartbreaking exit in the tournament’s history.
