IPL 2016: Shahrukh Khan attends KKR vs KXIP IPL 9 match win son

Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan waved and showered flying kisses to fans off the pitch.

Kolkata: Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan waved and showered flying kisses to fans off the pitch as his team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) battled it out against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Eden Gardens here on Wednesday. Nearly halfway through KKR’s innings, Khan — clad in a white T-shirt and sporting a beard — was first flashed on the giant screen having a balloon fight with son AbRam. He later realised the loud Eden cheers were for him and the “Dilwale” star acknowledged the love by standing up and waving. Earlier in the day, Khan had tweeted about his arrival which was also his first ‘home match’ this season. “Practising our dance moves lil AbRam and me as we prep for our first match in Kolkata. Ami Kolkata here we come… see you all at the Garden,” SRK posted on Twitter. Captain Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa’s terrific 101-run stand helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) post a challenging 164/3 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at the Eden Gardens here on Wednesday. Uthappa top-scored with 70, while Gambhir contributed 54 runs to the total. None of the Kings XI bowlers were able to take a wicket as all three scalps were run-outs.

The KKR opening pair once again provided a solid start on a strip that was assisting the bowlers. The Knights skipper looked fluent from the outset and took on the likes of Mohit Sharma and Marcus Stoinis smashing them to the ropes. At the end of the powerplay, the home side had managed to get to 40-0.
