With yet another heavy defeat, this time at the hands of Gujarat Lions (GL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have an uphill task, if they are to make it to the playoffs. RCB skipper Virat Kohli was rightly disappointed with his team’s performances, saying that his team did not play with intent. RCB suffered an embarrassing loss at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) few days earlier, when they were bowled out for just 49 and thereby suffering an 82-run loss. But RCB did not show any intent in that match and in this match against GL as well, says Kohli. RCB are now left with five points from nine games and currently lie in the seventh position. “Tonight was not clinical. We need to get better with our performances. You got to come out and play with intent. We tried to do it with the bat. The only way to come out of it is to play positive cricket. We are putting too much pressure on the team. Individuals need to stand up and take responsibility,” said Kohli after the match. Kohli also credited Aaron Finch, who played a superb knock on Thursday. The Australian blasted 72 off just 34 balls, which included six sixes and five fours. He also brought up his fifty off just 22 deliveries – fastest by any GL player. READ: GL hammer RCB by 7 wickets in IPL 2017

“The ball was coming on decently well. Both the innings under lights the ball behaves the same. Credit to Finch he played a fantastic knock. In a small chase it is important if one guys takes the momentum,” Kohli added.
