Following a blistering performance in the inaugural, now discarded, Champions League, Kieron Pollard won the attention of Mumbai Indians‘ (MI) franchise owners ahead of IPL 2010. Since then, Pollard has played a pivotal role in MI’s three titles. Either he has been the second fiddle to some important victories, led form the front with his acrobatic fielding and tight death-overs bowling or added runs down the order with his strokeplay. Overall, Pollard has always been a force to reckon with for the MI camp. Ahead of IPL 2018, MI rightly retained Pollard’s services through RTM card. The right-hander speaks about his ninth year in association with the franchise, and how together they have forged a “successful partnership.”

In the short video, Pollard shares his intentions of winning more games for MI, and entertaining the crowds with his antics and power hitting.

IPL 2018 so far

The current edition is not even a week old, and hence it is early days in the tournament. Defending champions are known as the perennial slow starters. Losing two matches on trot, MI would be eager to turn the tides. Similarly, Pollard has also got only one chance to bat in the tournament so far. With a 23-ball 28 versus Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has shown to be in good nick, and will look to turn the heat in the upcoming encounters.
