In modern era, we all talk about how batsmen’s dominance rule the roost on most occasions. Well, it is true. Shorter formats have been more inclined towards the batters. However, it has always been the bowlers’ who win you games, or turn the tides. In the ongoing VIVO IPL 2018 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers’ trump card, Rashid Khan, claimed a unique feat in a batsmen-friendly game to finish his quote of overs with 1 for 13. In addition, he joined the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin (twice) and Amit Mishra to bowl 18 dot balls. This means Rashid bowled three maiden overs, and conceded only 13 off his remaining six deliveries. HATS OFF!

In the current edition, Rashid bettered Chris Woakes‘ performance wherein the Englishman bowled 15 dots in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s tournament-opener versus Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.

Rashid resorted to change of pace smartly during his quota of overs. He bowled his first over inside Powerplay and immediately brought brakes to the scoring. He anticipated the big hits from the batters, and dropped it short or tossed up the deliveries from time to time. In addition, his wrong’ uns continued to rattle the opposition batsmen. Rashid got the wicket of Ben Cutting, run-a-ball 9, when the latter was looking to give Mumbai’s innings a much-needed lift.

Rashid’s economical over, along with Siddarth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma’s two wickets apiece, restricted Mumbai’s score to only 147 for 8 in 20 overs.
