Match 32 of Vivo IPL 2018 between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) was reduced to 18 overs due to rain interruptions. However, only 17.1 overs were completed after rain forced the cricketers back to the pavilion. The home side posted a mammoth 196 for 6 with Rishabh Pant (69 in 29 balls) along with Shreyas Iyer (50 in 35) adding 92 for the third wicket. As things stand now, RR will have to chase 151 in 12 overs.

DD were 6 for 1 after 2 overs (Colin Munro had fallen first ball) when Prithvi Shaw cut loose. He smashed 16 runs off the third over, bowled by Dhawal Kulkarni. He was even dropped off the last ball in the same over by the bowler itself. Shaw and Iyer scored at 10 an over before the former was dismissed for a 25-ball 47 by Shreyas Gopal. His exhibition of strokes ended when he hit one back to Shreyas Gopal.

Pant counterattacked even before the RR fielders had stopped celebrating Shaw’s wicket. Pant continued his form from last game. He came in when Iyer was on 26 and beat Iyer to the fifty, his third of the tournament. He was out in the 15th over when he tried to clear the ground off Jaydev Unadkat. He also claimed the Orange Cap in the process, and is now on 375 runs.

Unadkat managed to pick 3 wickets but also leaked 46 runs. Jofra Archer (9.79) and Ben Stokes (9.33) were the only bowlers to have an economy below 10.

Brief Scores:

Delhi Daredevils 196 for 6 in 17.1 overs [Rishabh Pant 69(29), Shreyas Iyer 50(35), Prithvi Shaw 47(25); Jaydev Unadkat 4-0-46-3] vs Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals need 151 in 12 oves.
