Wriddhiman Saha and Kane Williamson are very alike personas. There’s an infectious calmness and nicety in them, and they let skills take precedence. While Williamson is leading Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in VIVO IPL 2018, Saha is keeping stumps, and so far both have done well. SRH have won all their 3 matches to top the points table.

Saha is enjoying his new role for SRH as an opener. The 33-year-old smashed a 15-ball 24 at his home ground Eden Gardens on Saturday and the knock played a crucial role in SRH’s first win at the venue, against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

“I’ve been given a new role to open and asked to play with freedom. I’m trying that only,” Saha said of his new job. In the last match, I just rotated the strike while Dhawan was going about his shots. Today I got the start. It’s about whose day it is and should carry from thereon,” Saha said of his new role.

Williamson anchored the innings with a solid 50 and Saha praised his captain’s knock. He also mentioned that as a captain, Williamson takes inputs of every team member and is doing a good job.

“He always listens to everyone. Asked all of us to give inputs. He’s doing well as a team after David Warner. He’s doing a great job,” expressed the 33-year-old.

SRH play next Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Mohali on April 19.
