The latest swing sensation was slotted with the base price of Rs 10 lakhs. Mumbai Indians made the first bid, but the Chennai Super Kings followed suit, and increased the bid to Rs 25 lakhs. MI and CSK competed with each other over Pandey for some time, before Sunrisers Hyderbad came into the picture, and MI gave up the chase during the IPL 7 auction.
Ultimately, SH too couldn’t keep up with CSK, as the Chennai franchise bought the talented medium-pacer for Rs 1.5 crores.
Pandey generated huge interest as his selling price was 15 times more than his base price.
