Morne Morkel has been sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at a relatively cheap INR 2.8 crores in Indian Premier League (IPL) 7 auction. Morkel has tormented batsmen all over the world, and quite justifiably there has been frantic bidding over him. Rajasthan Royals (RR) were the first bidders, and Mumbai Indians (MI) responded almost immediately.

Kolkata then entered the fray as Mumbai dropped out. Rajasthan still kept continuing and gave up when Kolkata bought him for 2.8 crores. One would have expected Delhi Daredevils (DD) to use their ‘Right to Match card’, but they did not. Who are they saving it for?

Morkel in 2012 was in superb form for Delhi by taking plenty of wickets for them.
