Rajasthan Royals stood to their character of developing youngsters and going into a season with a leader who can guide them. They retained their stars and promising youngsters going into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 auction.

On Day One though, one might feel they missed a trick by not going for Mahela Jayawardene as they lack that leader this time round. Shane Watson cannot be called one yet.

But buying tim Southee at a throwaway price was a gem from the RR team. Buying Abhishek Nayar was also a very good choice.

Overall, they have a wonderful strength of all-rounders in their setup now, but the over-dependency on Shane Watson could hurt them.

Following are the players bought by Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2014 Auction on Day Two —
