Rajasthan Royals have retained Ajinkya Rahane, Shane Watson, Sanju Samson, James Faulkner and Stuart Binny for the 2014 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The franchise made the announcement  in their official website. They have made full use of their five-player retention and have selected three Indians and two foreign players.

This means that Rajasthan will have only one ‘Right to Match’ option in getting back any of their players from the 2013 squad. Brad Hodge could be the player they might use in this purpose.

They were led by Rahul Dravid in the 2013 edition, but with him retiring a new captain is still to be appointed. Australian all-rounder Watson is reported to be the main candidate, but is confirmed as of yet.

The franchise had a very good 2013 as they finished third in the IPL and runners-up in the Champions League Twenty20.
