The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have retained Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. However they can still retain three players through Right to Match cards (RTM). Yusuf Pathan  recently made news for wrong reasons; however he can still be one of the options to go with.

Speaking to NDTV.com Pathan said he still has the hard hitting ability and enthusiasm to play the shortest format of the game.

“I still go to the crease with the mindset of hitting the ball out of the park,” Pathan said. ”I don’t know which team will opt for me but I am open to play for any franchisee whoever goes for me. I will play with same enthusiasm and attitude, the way I have been for years.”

Pathan played the first three seasons of IPL for Rajasthan Royals and the rest for KKR. Talking on the same Pathan expressed his attachment with both teams but also said he will be happy to resume with KKR for whom he represented for seven years.

Pathan has scored 2904 runs in 149 matches to become 12th overall highest-run scorer in the history of the IPL. He also has hit 146 sixes in IPL. He also has scored 15 balls half centuries and a 37-ball century in IPL.

He also is very confident about his form as he promises to perform in this IPL.

“I have played a lot of cricket with both teams but majorly with KKR. When you spend a lot of time with a team, you get attached and that’s what happened with me. I am really attached to both teams,” Pathan said.

“I will be really happy if KKR buy me using RTM. I am ready to join the KKR force any day. I have spent seven seasons at KKR. I will be happy to go back with the team where I have spent seven seasons. This team has given me a lot,” Pathan said.

“This IPL will see a different Yusuf Pathan. That’s a promise,” he added.

Pathan is now 35 but is confident about his game and fitness in the shortest format of the game which is most suited for the young generation.

“Age is just a number for me. I am playing the way I have been. I will not disappoint my fans. If given chance, I will entertain everyone the way I started my career,” he concluded
