The schedule of the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League is likely to be announced at its Governing Council meeting to be held in the city ahead of India-West Indies final ODI here on October 20.
With Kolkata Knight Riders being the defending champions, the city will once again get to host the inaugural ceremony which is likely to be held in Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan that hosted a grand ISL kickoff yesterday.
“We will finalise the venue in the meeting. Definitely the Salt Lake stadium is very much in our mind but we will also look out for other options,” CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly, who is also a IPL GC member, said.
The next edition of the IPL is slated to be held post ICC World Cup which will be held in February-March next year in Australia-New Zealand.
All the members of the GC including Ravi Shastri and chairman Ranjeev Biswal will attend the meeting that will be held at the Taj which will also host the annual MAK Pataudi Lecture to be delivered by former India middle order batsman VVS Laxman.
