We have had a bowlers-dominated day of cricket at the M Chinnaswamy stadium today. Rest of India will look to bounce back tomorrow, but for today, here is the final report.

Amit Mishra bowls the final over the day. Rahul and Sathish just play him out, without taking any chances.

Pankaj Singh is consistently bowling just outside the off-stump of Sathish. But the batsmen looks patient, as of now.

Pankaj Singh is getting late movement, and is bowling with a lot of heart. He is running in, and is getting good bounce from the wicket.

We have seen quite a few wickets fall in the last 30 minutes or so. Here’s ROI’s innings report for you.

Both Rahul and Sathish are looking solid in their defense so far. And Rahul has driven beautifully so far.

Lokesh Rahul has already played two exquisite drives. Dinda is bowling well. We are in for an exciting few last overs.

What a start for ROI. Dinda strikes in his very first over. Uthappa departs.
OUT! R Uthappa 0(5)

Rest of India have folded out for 201 in the first innings. Here’s their innings report.

And that’s it. Vinay Kumar grabs the last two wickets in the 66th over. Takes 6 in the innings. What a day for Karnataka.
OUT! A Singh 0(4), P Singh 0(1)

WHAT A CATCH!! Robin Uthappa takes a blinder to dismiss Karthik, who was 9 runs away from a century.
OUT! D Karthik 91(184)

Harbhajan Singh falls after a useful innings.
OUT! H Singh 25(46)

Boundaries are coming in thick and fast in the final session. While Karthik’s have been smooth and good-looking, Harbhajan’s have been a bit characteristically streaky.

50-run partnership up between Karthik and Harbhajan off 67 balls. Karthik is looking in sublime touch now. He is driving and cutting fluently, both off the front foot and back foot.

Karthik and Harbhajan have started the last session of the day in a positive fashion, going for the quick singles.

Rest of India dominate the post-lunch session. It will be interesting to see if they can carry their good work into the last session of the day. Here is the Tea Report.

Abhimanyu Mithun is bowling wayward lines. Half-volleys on leg-stump to a set batsmen is asking to be hit, and he is being.

Dinesh Karthik is smoothly carrying on, after Amit Mishra’s dismissal.

Karthik reaches his fifty. His 31st in First-Class cricket.

Amit Mishra’s bright little innings come to an end. Jabs at a wide delivery from HS Sharath. Caught at third slip. Misses his fifty by three runs.
OUT! Amit Mishra 47(61)

Karthik and Mishra seem to be losing a little patience here. Some bad calls and wild swings.

The partnership between Karthik and Mishra has now crossed the 50-run mark. Good recovery for ROI.

Finally some runs off Vinay Kumar’s bowling after 3 consecutive maiden overs. Karnataka are losing steam here.

100 up for ROI. Karthik and Mishra are looking good.
Karthik and Mishra are building a solid partnership here. Mishra has now scored five boundaries. Two off this over.

Amit Mishra is chipping in with a few crucial boundaries here. These runs could be crucial on this wicket.

Vinay Kumar starts the post-lunch session with a maiden over.

And we are back now for the post-lunch session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Vinay Kumar to start proceedings for Karnataka.

Karnataka have rattled the Rest of India in the first session of Day One of Irani Trophy 2013-14 encounter. Here’s the lunch report.

And it’s Lunch in Bangalore. ROI have been caught completely off-guard by the Karnataka seamers. They have already lost half their side. Vinay Kumar and Stuart Binny have picked up the wickets.

OUT! Mandeep Singh 5(15)

Gambhir departs after a long struggle. Stuart Binny finally gets the better of him. But replays showed the ball might have missed leg stump, and height was an issue too, although it pitched in line.
OUT! G Gambhir 22(66)

50 up for the Rest of India. Karthik and Gambhir are building a solid partnership here.

Read our mid-innings report here.

20 overs gone in the first session. Rest of India looking much more stable and confident now.

Another superb over for Karnataka here. But Gambhir and Karthik will be more bothered about preserving their wickets, rather than quick runs here.

End of the 15th over now. Karthik and Gambhir are slowly negating the early bite in the pitch.

Vinay Kumar bowls another probing over.

Gambhir and Karthik are consolidating after the early shocks. But the pitch is still providing enough assist to the seamers.

Vinay Kumar is on a roll here. Bowls another superb inswinging delivery to catch Kedar Jadhav all tangled up.3rd wicket for him in 3 overs
OUT! K Jadhav 2(3)

Kedar Jadhav is the new man in. ROI will look to consolidate here.

Vinay Kumar has made a majestic start here. 2 wickets in 2 overs. Aparajith is caught plumb in front of the wickets. ROI in trouble.
OUT! B Aparajith 2(9)

Gambhir gets off the mark in style, with a classy cover drive.

What a start here for the Ranji champions. Captain Vinay Kumar opens the bowling and takes the first wicket with his very first ball. Excellent start for Karnataka.
OUT! Jiwanjot Singh 0(1)
