Ireland and Scotland have announced there squads for the tour of Australia and New Zealand as a part of the preparations for the ICC World Cup 2015.
According to a report in icc-cricket.com , Ireland will play total of eight matches on the tour , four each in Australia and New Zealand. Ireland have included 33-year-old Alex Cusack and Peter Chase on the tour.
“Alex Cusack has been one of our best limited overs bowlers in the last six years. Although he’s been out of competitive action since early May the plan was always to take him on tour as long as he had recovered from injury,” told Phil Simmons, Ireland’s head coach.
“He has been in a long period of rehabilitation and is fit to train now. He will be back training and bowling this week and part of his continued rehabilitation will be in Australia with the hope he is able to play towards the latter half of the tour in New Zealand.” Ireland Squad:William Porterfield (Captain), Tim Murtagh , Andrew McBrine , Kevin O’Brien , Alex Cusack , George Dockrell , John Mooney , Niall O’Brien , Andrew Balbirnie , Peter Chase ,Andrew Poynter , Stuart Poynter , Max Sorensen , Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson , Andrew White , Gary Wilson , Craig Young.
