Ishant Sharma is the latest cricketer to feature in an Amul ad after his career-best figures of seven for 74 against England, which helped for India to record their second win in a Test match at Lord’s – the home of cricket — in 82 years. Ishant, also made noticeable improvements in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Test player rankings, released on Tuesday. He is the 20th ranked Test bowler now.
Ishant was off-colour before the start of the series. He didn’t do well in India’s two practice matches before the series. But when it came down to Test matches, Ishant took key English wickets in both the matches. He was asked to lead the Indian attack as he is the most experience bowler in the current Indian bowling unit.
Ishant’s last spell was the crucial bowling spell of the current India-England series thus far. English batsmen could not handle his short pitch bowling in the fifth day of second Test match and they threw their wickets away. His match winning effort gave him the man of the match award also. Besides this, the Indian seedstar has now entered into a new deal with Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment Pvt Ltd also.
