In a pre-match report, it was announced that Ishant picked up an injury, thereby enabling Rajasthan pacer Pankaj Singh to make his international debut for India. Pankaj has played a solitary One-Day International (ODI) for India in 2010. He made a comeback to the Indian side for this series, but was overlooked for the first two Tests.
India currently lead England 1-0 in the five-match Test series, after drawing the first game at Trent Bridge and following it up with a 95-run win at Lord’s.
