Jasprit Bumrah was named Man of the series in the recently concluded India versus Sri Lanka One-Day International (ODI) series. He now has more good news heading his way. In the latest ranking released by International Cricket Council (ICC) for bowlers in ODIs, Bumrah is ranked No. 4. He gained 27 spots to enter the top 5 for the first time.

The rankings are headed by Josh Hazlewood, Imran Tahir and Mitchell Starc. Akshar Patel dropped from No. 9 to No. 10, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar is No. 14 in the list (he has dropped from 11). Kuldeep Yadav (89) and Yuzvendra Chahal (99) for the first time broke the below 100 barrier.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli keeps his No.1 rank in the ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen after equalling Ricky Ponting’s tally of 30 hundreds. He now has also level Sachin Tendulkar’s rating points of 887 (98’); which is record of Indian record.   Rohit Sharma is back in top 10 at No. 9, followed by MS Dhoni at No.10.

India continue to remain at No. 3 in team rankings, behind only Australia (117) [on decimal points] and South Africa (119).

After this humiliating 0-5 defeat Sri Lanka will now have to rely on West Indies’s matches against Ireland and England to qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup 2017 directly.
