South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada had a stellar night at the Cricket South Africa (CSA) awards as he picked up the One-Day Internationals (ODI) Test cricketer of the year and also South Africa Cricketer of the year among other awards. Leg-spinner Imran Tahir won the CSA T20I player of the year. Tahir in his 14 matches, he has picked up 18 wickets at an economy rate of 6.83. Rabada has won a total of six awards. He also won the Fans’ Player of the year award and also the Players’ Player of the year award as well. Rabada has had an excellent year across formats. He has picked up 24 wickets in 6 Tests to go along with 30 wickets in 14 matches at an economy rate of 4.83 in ODIs. There were other award winners as well. Stephen Cook, who made his Test debut against England few months back gets the Newcomer of the Year award. Temba Bavuma scored his maiden Test century at Newlands against England and for that he wins the KFC Award of Excellence. Rushdie Magiet was bestowed with the Khaya Majola Lifetime Achievement Award. Big names like AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis miss out. Rabada has risen through the ranks extremely well in the past year and the youngster will look to complete a clean sweep next year. South Africa have a couple of important tours coming up and they will look to put in a good performance in those tours.
