Karnataka ended Day Two of their Ranji Trophy semi-final encounter against Punjab at 39 for the loss of two wickets, trailing by 231 runs. Bad light ended the day’s play at Mohali on Sunday.

 

Karnataka’s Robin Uthappa is batting on 25, along with Manish Pandey (8). Manpreet Singh Gony and Jaskaran Singh took a wicket each for Punjab.

 

Earlier in the day, Punjab scored 270 runs in the first essay, with both openers Manan Vohra (51) and Jiwanjot Singh (74) registering fifties. Yuvraj Singh scored a fine 42 before Karnataka captain, R Vinay Kumar ran through the Punjab lower-order to restrict them below 300.

 

Vinay Kumar ended with figures of five wickets for 27 runs from eight overs, and got good support from leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal, who bagged three crucial wickets, including that of opener Jiwanjot.
