Delhi Daredevils (DD) have reached a score of 73 for three after nine overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Dinesh Karthik is batting on four and Laxmi Shukla is on zero. Kevin Pietersen fell to Amit Mishra in the seventh over for 35. Quinton de Kock was the first batsman to have been dismissed. Dale Steyn got his wicket for seven runs. Mishra then dismissed Mayank Agarwal for 25 in the ninth over. This is Match 32 of the IPL 7 season. The match is being played at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Hyderabad captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and elected to field. Hyderabad named an unchanged side from their last match. Delhi made wholesale changes after suffering a string of defeats. Wayne Parnell, Murali Vijay and Shahbaz Nadeem all made way for Mayank Agarwal, Imran Tahir and Rahul Shukla.
Bhuvneshwar bowled two overs in-a-row. But Pietersen struck two consecutive fours to begin the over. The first was a square-drive between point and cover and the second was an outside edge that raced away to the third-man region. Karn Sharma was brought into the attack to replace Steyn. Pietersen put his front-foot forward and stroked a six over wide long-off. Pietersen then went on his back-foot and cut a length delivery in front of middle and off-stump through backward-point for a four.
Moises Henriques was brought into the attack in the sixth over. The first ball was driven by Pietersen brilliantly for a six high over long-on. The second delivery was hammered straight back past the bowler for a four. Both were half-volleys from Henriques. Agarwal also wanted to get in amongst the boundaries and he sliced one over cover-point for a four. Amit Mishra then got the breakthrough as he dismissed Pietersen for 35 in the seventh over. He tossed one up and Pietersen mishit the ball straight to Dhawan at short-cover. That was Mishra’s 100th wicket in the IPL.
Agarwal then played a late-cut to a turning delivery from Mishra past short third-man for a four. But Agarwal then slog-swept one from Mishra straight to David Warner at deep mid-wicket.
