Legendary English batsman Kevin Pietersen has been out of action from international cricket since January 2014. On the other hand, Shahid Afridi, who is active only in Twenty20 International (T20I) format, is currently out from Pakistan’s T20I side. Post Ashes series of 2013-14, in which England faced a humiliating defeat by 5-0, Pietersen was never included in the side because of his controversial relationship with team management. Although, he was the highest run-getter from his side by scoring 294 runs from five Tests. Many former English and other cricketers came in support of Pietersen but he never got another chance to make a comeback. Besides, he continued playing T20 leagues across the globe. He is also now 36-year old and most of the cricketers start thinking of retirement at this age but the speculation over Pietersen’s retirement has now become more reliable because of one latest news.

On the other hand, Afridi, who is also 36-year old, last represented Pakistan T20I side in ICC World T20 2016 and since then, he has not been included in the side and going by the reports, was also offered to retire after playing a T20I series against West Indies in UAE. Former Australian leggie Shane Warne on Friday came up with a great news for fans who love watching retired players playing again. Last year, Warne along with Sachin Tendulkar came up with a unique idea of playing a series of three-T20 matches titled as Cricket All-Stars between their teams, which included only legendary retired cricketers. It got excellent response from fans and now Warne revealed that the next edition of this tournament, which will be played in September/October 2017 at any major international city in non-traditional cricket market, will include few new players.

As revealed by Warne from his official Facebook page, the next edition of this tournament will include some new players from retired cricketers club. Two of those new players is Pietersen and Afridi but both are yet to announce his retirement from international cricket because to take part in this tournament, a player must retire from all forms of international cricket. Well, this surely means that Pietersen and Afridi may announce his retirement soon.

Besides Pietersen and Afridi, other new addition to the league are Brendon McCullum, Michael Clarke, Mitchell Johnson, Adam Gilchrist, Darren Gough and Stephen Fleming. The inclusion of these legends will surely make this next edition of the tournament much more exciting and interesting.

This is the first news so far related to this tournament but expect lot more to come in next few days and the hottest topic should be Pietersen.
