Bollywood superstar and principal owner of Kolkata Knight Riders franchise, Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday visited the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in South Kolkata.

After his team’s victory over the Kings XI Punjab, Khan, the brand ambassador of Bengal, drove straight to the residence of Banerjee in the dingy Harish Chatterjee street where a large number of his fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the star.

Banerjee came out from her residence to welcome Khan, who in turn touched her feet in a show of respect for the leader.

Khan was at Banerjee’s residence for about 25 minutes.

Banerjee also went to the Eden Gardens during the match and watched it for some time.

KKR stormed into the final of the IPL with a 28-run win over Kings XI Punjab.

Khan later told reporters: “I am grateful to Kolkata for its support and we will party after we win the IPL this year.

“The team has been playing fantastically.”
