KL Rahul, the Karnataka opener completed 1,000 runs for the Ranji Trophy 2013-14 during his ton against Maharashtra in the final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

 

Rahul achieved the feat in the 91st over of Karnataka’s innings, with a single off Maharashtra spinner Akshay Darekar.

 

Rahul is now only the second batsman to record 1,000 runs in this season. The other man is Kedar Jadhav, who has scored 1,111 runs so far. During his ton, Rahul moved past Harshad Khadiwale to become the second highest run-scorer of the season.

 

Rahul and Ganesh Sathish’s tons have placed Karnataka in a great position and they are dominating Maharashtra in the final. Rahul has continued after Ganesh’s dismissal and has made Maharashtra pay for the dropped chances.
