KL Rahul’s unbeaten 150 keeps India on top against West Indies at tea on Day 2 of 2nd Test

India‘s stand-in opener KL Rahul continued to play a strong innings, as he scored an unbeaten 150 to keep India on top against the hosts West Indies, on Day 2 of the second of the four-match Test series at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday. India have so far just lost a couple of wickets in the innings and lead by 63 runs, with Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara, the men to fall so far. While Dhawan fell on Day 1, Pujara fell in this session off an unfortunate run out, as the West Indies bowlers have clearly struggled to get a proper breakthrough and bar the Indians from putting up a strong partnership. India resumed the session following lunch on 185 for the loss of a wicket, as Rahul and Pujara continued to bat in a similar steady fashion. Eventuslly, India brought up their 200 runs in 67 overs, but just eight runs later, it was Pujara, who fell for 46, just four short off his half-century, as a direct throw and hit from Roston Chase, shattered his knock with an unfortunate run out, thus ending a helathy 121- run stand between the two for the second wicket. His dismissal eventually brought the Indian skipper Virat Kohli onto the crease, as they batted steadly and al;so brought up the 250 for India within 90 over. They also completed the 50-run stand for the third wicketm, and just in the final over before the tea break, Rahul brought up his maiden Test 150 and remained unbeaten, while Kohli too gave him a good support from the other end to remain unbeaten on 21, as India extended the lead by 63 runs.
