In the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad brought back Dale Steyn to get a breakthrough to get on of the Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen out. Despite not getting a wicket the bowler bowled an excellent  over — giving away very few runs in the over. Karn Sharma came back and also bowled a tidy over and the batsmen looked tidy at the crease without giving much room for the batsmen. Kolkata batsmen were yet again lucky when the toe edge of the bat of Pathan flew in the air but Darren Sammy took the catch.

Earlier,In an unexpected turn of events, Uthappa was run-out in bizarre circumstances. Uthappa’s partner sends him back and and the stylish opener grounds the bat, only for him to lose the grip on his willow at the last second and the bails were dislodged by keeper Naman Ojha.

The 11th over saw a Pathan vs Pathan battle. Irfan steamed in and bowled a ball that was short and wide and the elder sibling smacked the ball to the boundary. Then Manish Pandey went after Amit Mishra in what was a classy display of batting. First, a paddle sweep to the boundary and then picking up Mishra’s leg break and lifting the ball over long-on for a big six. Pandey then whipped the ball of his pads for another boundary.
