Kolkata Knight Riders are in a tough spot while chasing 133 against Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL), 2014. Chris Lynn and Robin Uthappa are currently batting and in their 10 overs, they are 43 for three. This will now turn out to be a good game as Kolkata have a task on their hands in the last ten overs.
Kolkata got into trouble early as Sandeep Sharma dismissed Manish Pandey leg before in the third over. Pandey was done in by one that came back in. In walked Gautam Gambhir, who had recorded three ducks in the IPL before the game. He had an iffy start when his first ball nearly carried back to the bowler. He did get off the mark off his fourth ball but then he tried to smash Sandeep over the top and he spooned a catch straight to mid-off.
Jacques Kallis was then dismissed in the sixth over off Lakshmipathy Balaji’s first ball as he scooped a catch to the point fielder. That put them in a spot and this is now turning out to be a close game here. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders had won the toss and elected to bowl. And, their spinners responded in style with Piyush Chawla taking three wickets and Sunil Narine also recording the same number of wickets.
