After Mumbai’s disappointing show in the Ranji Trophy 2013-14, Sulakshan Kulkarni has been replaced as the coach of the team for List A and Twenty20 games (T20s) with former India and Under-19 coach, Lalchand Rajput taking over the mantle. Kulkarni was criticised for giving lots of excuses for their defeats.
Rajput was once considered as India’s next best hope after Sunil Gavaskar’s retirement. He was also a mainstay of Mumbai line-up for a longtime. Rajput has a tough time on his hands, as he has to take over the mantle of motivating a Mumbai side that is down in the dumps.
