Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led India will aim for complete domination over minnows Afghanistan in the ICC World Twent20 Group A clash in Colombo on Wednesday evening.
India will enter the Super Eights if they beat Afghanistan in their Group A clash, even before taking on defending champions England on September 23.
Afghanistan and India have had only one meeting till date, with India comfortably beating Afghanistan by seven wickets during the last edition of World T20 in the West Indies.
India had mixed results in the warm-up matches, as they defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 26 runs, but lost to arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets.
Afghanistan have played only one T20 WC before this and their performance wasn’t impressive enough.
The Afghans lost their one-off Twenty20 international to Australia last month in UAE.
