Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog post of the first of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. I am Vishal Mehra and I will bring to you the live cricket scores and updates from the match. The first ODI will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. The two teams earlier played a two- Test series which ended in a draw. After this ODI series, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will also play a Twenty20 International (T20I) series consisting two matches. Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have lost their previous ODIs and will look forward to start off with a victory. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, 1st ODI

For Bangladesh, Mehedi Hasan has been brought into the squad and will make his ODI debut if picked. Mehedi has impressed one and all with his bowling so far in Tests. He made his debut against England at home and emerged as the highest wicket-taker with 19 wickets from two Tests. He maintained consistency in the following series in New Zealand and also in Sri Lanka, picking up wickets on a consistent basis. He also scored a half-century in India and later scored a handy 41 in Sri Lanka in the first Test which showed his skills with the bat.

For Sri Lanka, all eyes will be on Asela Gunaratne, who has become the hero for for the island nation in limited-overs. The middle-order batsman scored a century in his last ODI in South Africa and later guided his side to a historic T20I series win in Australia. He is also a handy medium pacer.
