Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live updates for the 50-over practise match between Sri Lanka Board President’s XI and Bangladesh at Colombo Cricket Club, ahead of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series followed by two Twenty20 International (T20Is). We will provide all the live cricket updates and happenings of this contest.  In all honesty, Bangladesh must be high on confidence after beating Sri Lankan in their own den in the second Test and drawing the series 1-1. The Board President’s XI will be lead by Milinda Siriwardana. However, the inclusion of Binura Fernando is subject to his fitness report. After drawing the Test series, Bangladesh must be eyeing to claim the ODI series, where they have done well in recent times.

However, their performance in ODIs is not upto the mark in overseas, but has ability to spring surprises. Given it is a practise game, victory or defeat will not matter much, but it will help Bangladeshi side get back in the limited-overs grove. Mashrafe Mortaza will lead the Bangladesh side along with the mixture of young and experienced players in the team.

In the Board President’s XI squad, there are not many big names apart from Thisara Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka and Kusal Perera. These four players, for that matter, will have to play the major role to win the match. Although, some startling performance can be expected from any other player. After this practise match, both teams will move to Dambulla to play first two ODIs of the series and then Colombo for third ODI.
