England and Sri Lanka will resume their battle in the second Test at Headingley. The first Test between the two countries ended in a draw with Sri Lanka losing nine wickets on the last day and somehow drawing the game. For Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkar, the veteran batsman went onto make his first ton at Lord’s. Angelo Mathews too played well for his hundred. For England, Joe Root was in prime form, as he went onto make a double hundred. His first double ton of his career. Catch the live blog here.

 

It was James Anderson, who went onto take his 350th wicket at Lord’s who livened up the things on the final day by taking a slew of wickets. However, Mathews played a gutsy innings and the tail-enders held out for a draw. Alastair Cook, England’s captain was criticised for not declaring the innings earlier.
