Mitchell Johnson and Rohit Sharma’s significant contributions with the bat lifted Mumbai Indians to first innings total of 157 for six against Highveld Lions in their Champions League T20 2012 match.

Highveld Lions skipper Alviro Petersen’s decision to bowl first was proved correct by the bowlers as they didn’t allow star-studded Mumbai Indians batting line-up to flourish.

It was Dwayne Smith’s 19-ball 26 that provided Mumbai some momentum early on. The Caribbean batsman hit six boundaries, before falling to Chris Morris.

Towards the end, Dinesh Karthik scored a quick off balls to lift Mumbai to 157 for six.

Australian cricketer Johnson, who made his debut for the Mumbai-based franchise, scored a quick knock of 30, which came from 29 balls, studded with four boundaries.

Brief Scores: Mumbai Indians 157 for 6 in 20 overs (Mitchell Johnson 30, Rohit Sharma 27, Dwayne Smith 26; Sohail Tanvir 2 for 31) vs Highveld Lions.
