Some picturesque shots, including the six from Mahipal Lomror over cover and the beautiful drives by Dagar towards the end helped India go past the par score of 230 at this ground. The bowlers have ample runs in hand to defend. Both Avesh and Khaleel Ahmed have displayed good piece  of bowling in the initial overs and are expected to scalp some early wickets.  OUT! He comes down the track, uses the pace of the ball to drive comfortably over the long-off. These two have well settled now, Sri Lanka has to make a breakthrough to once again have an upper hand here. While Khan has already smashes six boundaries, Singh has two to his name. And that six was India’s first big hit of this innings.

Sarfaraz Khan targeted de Silva for two consecutive boundaries. The first one he slog sweep towards the the cow corner fence. And the second one was also a sweep from him that crossed the ropes of mid-wicket boundary. 10 runs came from that over. 16 runs came from the next overs then. These two are slowing India recover from those early fall of wickets.

After going without a boundary for four overs, Sarfaraz finally broke the ice, Damitha Silva was the bowler who went short, the batsman just square cut it for a four. Next over, he almost got himself run out. He plays it toward sthe cover, he immediately runs for a single but Anmolpreet doesn’t run from the otehr end. The fielder throws the ball to the keeper, who removes the bails. However, Khan is well in. The young Anmolpreet who is playing only his second match for India Udner-19 already has two boundaries so far in this innings.

Live Cricket Scores and Updates India Under-19 34/2 in 11 Overs | Batting: Sarfaraz Khan 2(6), Anmolpreet Singh 5(7): Huge blow for India Under-19 in the 9th over, with Rishab Pant falling so early. Asitha Fernando who has been Sri Lanka’s highest wicket-taker so far in the tournament once again made a breakthrough for them. He goes outside off, Pant in reply tries to defend it but is caught behind. Initially the umpire is not convinced, 3rd umpire confirms it OUT. That was followed by the skipper’s dismissal in the very next over. Lahiru Kumara with the ball this time. He tempts Kishan with a loose ball, the batsman just gets a touch which carries straight into the gloves of de Silva. The semi-final hasn’t started the way the Indians must have planned for. The Indian skipper has managed just one good innings, his 52 against Nepal. Two new batsmen on the crease for India. OUT! Rishabh Pant c de Silva Asitha Fernando 14(28), OUT! Live Cricket Scores and Updates India Under-19 20/0 in 6 Overs | Batting: Rishabh Pant 13(21), Ishan Kishan 4(15): These two have managed just 13 runs in the last 5 overs, clearly the Lankans have managed to keep them under control. However, the boundary on the last ball of the 6th over would have released a little pressure off these Indian openers. Pant pushed it towards the square leg boundary, the fielder there tried his best to not let it get in contact with the ad cushions, eventually it did.

The young Sri Lankan had a shaky start, wide in the first delivery. FOUR! A full toss from him, Pant just flicks it towards mid-wicket, the fielder there jumps to his right to stop it, fails and India & Pant get their first boundary of the match. India bagged seven runs off the first over. Lahiru Kumara came in for Sri Lanka from the other end. He was off to a good start, two dots to begin with, Pant then used the gap near square leg, runs back for a two. That was followed by just dots to end the over. The Indian skipper has so far faced just one ball.

As the tournament heads towards its business end one can expect the intensity to rise to another level.

India will be boosting with confidence as they won their previous encounter by a massive margin of 197 runs. Sri Lanka too registered a fine victory against Canada as they won the battle by 196 runs. Both the teams are well-oiled and the clash will surely be enthralling.
