Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog session of Day Three of the warm-up match between India A and Australia at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. I am Ayush Gupta, as I will be bringing to you the live updates from today’s action. India A will resume Day Three of the match at 176 for 4, still trailing Australia by 293 runs. Shreyas Iyer is unbeaten at the crease with 93-ball 85 and he has Rishabh Pant for company, who is batting on 3. Australia declared their innings on 469 for 7 on Day Two. Skipper Steven Smith and middle-order batsman Shaun Marsh scored centuries, while Mitchell Marsh and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade registered fifties. Australia started off well with the ball as off-spinner Nathan Lyon removed India A’s opening batsmen Akhil Herwadkar and Priyank Panchal for 4 and 36 respectively.

Shreyas scored an excellent century against the touring Bangladesh in his previous match and looks set to get yet another one here against a much better attack. India still have Ishan Kishan and Krishnappa Gowtham to follow, but do not have much batting after that. The partnership between Shreyas and Pant is very crucial. They must look to take India A’s total as close as possible to the Australian first innings score. It will be a good chance for the Australian bowlers to get the maximum out of the final day of the tour match, ahead of the first Test, which is scheduled to begin at Pune on February 23. Jackson Bird too bowled well on Day Two, managing to pick up the wickets Anit Bawne and skipper Hardik Pandya. Josh Hazlewood has not bowled so far and Smith might be tempted to give the fast bowler a go on the final day. Mitchell Marsh has not picked up a single wicket n his nine overs. This will be a good chance for him to prove his credentials as an all-rounder after doing well with the bat.

If needed, Glenn Maxwell’s off-spinners could be used as a part-time option. He might come in handy with the ball in the Test series as well. READ: Harbhajan: This is the weakest Australian side to tour India
