Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day Two of the unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A. We at CricketCountry, will be bringing to you live updates and interesting tweets throughout the Test series. Opting to bat, South Africa A grabbed all the attention riding on the century of Stephen Cook. Although they lost 4 wickets, Cook found some morale boosting support from David Miller who was gone for 78, taking the total by the end of Day One to 270 for 4. Cook was off the mark with his innings along with skipper Aiden Markram. As the duo took their time to settle, Shahbaz Nadeem handed the first breakthrough removing the skipper by the 23rd over.

Cook continued his partnership with his next teammate Rudi Second, bringing the first big partnership of the innings. They added 73 runs for the second wicket. Just when the momentum was shifting towards South Africa A, Mohammad Siraj grabbed the opportunity and removed Second. With Miller on the crease, Cook looked settled with his regular teammate and South Africa A could see signs of positivity crippling. Miller was on top as he smashed most number of boundaries while Cook continued his defiant knock. Miller hit 10 boundaries that also included a six. But Miller’s stay with Cook was curtailed as Siraj struck again. Cook too became a scapegoat and India bounced back on time to remove the centurion before stumps. Nadeem and Siraj shared 4 wickets to keep India on track. Both Beuran Hendricks and Khaya Zondo remained unbeaten on nought.

They will look to start afresh on Day 2 to build on the solid platform laid by Cook and Miller.

Brief Scores: South Africa A 270 for 4 (Stephen Cook 120, David Miller 78; Mohammed Siraj 2 for 51, Shahbaz Nadeem 2 for 77) vs India A
