Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live updates from Day Three of the 1st Test between India Men and Sri Lanka Men at Galle. Once again, we from CricketCountry will bring you updates and interesting tweets from this Test. The second day was all about Sri Lanka Men trying to make their presence felt in match. The hosts’ did have their moments courtesy, Nuwan Pradeep, Upul Tharanga and Angelo Mathews, who bowled and batted their hearts out against a rampaging Indian side. India Men on the other hand, powered by Hardik Pandya’s 50 and Mohammed Shami’s run-a-ball 30 ended up scoring 600.

Starting the day it was the duo of Hardik and Shami that kept Indian side on the rise, whereas for Sri Lanka it was Nuwan Pradeep with his 6-for that kept the hosts’ head high. In reply, Sri Lanka were helped by Tharanga and Mathews, who struck fifties to meander their side to 154 for 5. It was Mohammed Shami along with Umesh Yadav that blew Sri Lanka’s top order. Tharanga and Mathews added 57 runs for the third wicket. Tharanga got to his 8th half century in merely 44 balls; his fastest in Test, while Mathews reached his 27th half-century in 81 balls.

With hardly anything going for Team India in the dying moments of Day Two, it took an inspired Abhinav Mukund to break the shackles. Mukund at silly point was fast as a gazzel to inflict a crucial run out. Sadly for the batsmen, Tharanga the shoulder of his bat bounced off the ground the moment Saha’s swayed away the stumps.

In a gap for few over, he was again in the thick of things, snatching up a blinder at the very same position. Niroshan Dickwella lunged forward only to lob the ball in the air that found a leaping right hand of Mukund inches above the grass.
