Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. This is Suvajit Mustafi, and I will be presenting the over-by-over updates of the match to keep you updated with the events as they happen. The series is headed for an exciting finale between the two sides after India managed to level the fourth one-dayer with a 35-run victory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday, October 22. India Test skipper Virat Kohli managed to make an emphatic comeback with the bat with a 140-ball 138, which was studded with six fours and five sixes. Struggling left-handed batsman Suresh Raina too returned to form with a 52-ball 53, forming a 127-run partnership with Kohli for the fourth wicket. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs South Africa 2015, 5th ODI at Mumbai

It has been a special effort from South Africa and this win will have a special place. Back in 1991, South Africa’s readmission in international cricket began with their tour of India. They played an ODI at Eden Gardens, which they lost. Since then and till today, South Africa haven’t won a bilateral ODI series in India. AB has led the team brilliantly and from the front with three majestic tons. It’s also their first ODI win in Mumbai. India lose another ODI series under Dhoni and this time at home. There’s bound to be tough questions asked. Read Shiamak Unwalla’s match report: All-round South Africa crush India by 214 runs in 5th ODI at Mumbai, win series 3-2

In a wonderful gesture, the BCCI and MCA are felicitating Zaheer Khan, who announced his retirement earlier this month. The crowd cheers Zaheer and he has the microphone. Zaheer, who has played for Mumbai for years, wishes Dhoni’s men good luck and congratulates AB for winning the series. Zaheer also thanks Tendulkar and his parents.

A match that saw three hundreds and one fine 87, it was tough to pick the Man of the Match but it goes to Quinton de Kock for his blistering start. He scored 109 from 87. The Man of the Series expectedly goes to South African skipper AB de Villiers. He has scored three tons in this series and led from the front. He scored 358 runs in the series.

While South Africa win their first ever bilateral ODI series in India, the home side have succumbed to their second-highest defeat in terms of margin of runs. India lost by 214-runs. Having lost, both the T20I and the ODI series, India, who beat Sri Lanka at home, will look forward to salvage some pride in the Test series.

OUT: A Mishra lbw b K Rabada 4 (6)

Live Cricket Score: India 219/8 | Overs 35 | BATSMEN: Amit Mishra 0(1), Mohit Sharma 0(4)  | So, Tahir cleans up Dhoni with a googly. He comes down the ground and fails to read it as the leather crashes onto the stumps. It’s a maiden wicket. OUT! MS Dhoni b Imran Tahir 27 (29)

Live Cricket Score: India 219/8 | Overs 34 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 27(27), Amit Mishra 0(1)  | Two dots from Behardien and the third one smacked with brute force by Dhoni for a straight boundary. Follows that with another chip through fine-leg for a four. Bad bowling. Nine from it. India would have hoped, SA bowled five Behardiens.

Live Cricket Score: India 210/8 | Overs 33 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 18(22), Amit Mishra 0 (0)  | India getting the singles but they won’t be enough. Six from the first five and Bhuvi’s torrid day continues. He scoops one straight to Miller. Crowd roars as the screen shows Sachin Tendulkar watching the game with his wife Anjali. OUT! Bhuvneshwar Kumar c D Miller b Imran Tahir 1 (8)

Live Cricket Score: India 204/7 | Overs 32 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 13(17), Bhuvneshwar Kumar 1(6)  | Behardien introduced now. India seem to be just trying to avert a big defeat. The required run rate is touching 13. Just three from that over.

Live Cricket Score: India 201/7 | Overs 31 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 11(14), Bhuvneshwar Kumar 0(4)  |  Steyn to Dhoni. An ugly slice to point for a single and well Harbhajan has given it away. Steyn picks his third as Harbhajan finds Chris Morris at covers. Morris, in for du Plessis, makes no mistake. Steyn is bowling quick and almost has Bhuvi as he gloves one and the ball lobs just short of de Kock. OUT! Harbhajan Singh c sub (C Morris) b D Steyn 0 (4)

Live Cricket Score: India 200/6 | Overs 30 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 10(13), Harbhajan Singh 0(3)  | Dhoni manages to find the mid-wicket boundary in the second ball but still five from it.

Live Cricket Score: India 195/6 | Overs 29 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 5(10), Harbhajan Singh 0 (0)  |  Steyn to continue. Akshar is there in the side as an all-rounder but with an average of just over 10, he hasn’t done any justice to his batting skills. Can he get a decent score? No, he doesn’t as he cuts one straight to the point and he doesn’t does any favour to his already low batting average. Four from the over and  Steyn gets another wicket. OUT! Akshar Patel c D Miller b D Steyn 5 (8)

Live Cricket Score: India 189/5 | Overs 28 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 4(9), Akshar Patel 2 (3)  |  Abbott to continue and he bowls a four-run over. India clearly struggling here. Dhoni gets lucky here as Dean Elgar misjudges another one off the fifth ball.

Live Cricket Score: India 185/5 | Overs 27 | BATSMEN: MS Dhoni 1(5), Akshar Patel 0 (0)  |  Steyn returns and strikes with his second ball. He gets the wicket of Rahane. That’s a big one. Rahane looks to launch that over the mid-wicket but there’s a fielder who makes no mistake. It’s been an absolutely special knock from the stylish right-hander. Another wicket. India going down but fighting. Akshar comes in and it’s a wicket maiden. OUT! A Rahane c F Behardien b D Steyn 87 (58)

Live Cricket Score: India 185/4 | Overs 26 | BATSMEN: Ajinkya Rahane 87(56), MS Dhoni 0(1)  | Abbott brought into the attack and Rahane smashes him for two consecutive boundaries of the first two balls. He is having a great day, but unfortunately lacking support from the other end.

Live Cricket Score: India 172/4 | Overs 25 | BATSMEN: Ajinkya Rahane 75(51), MS Dhoni 1(2)  | Rabada bowls another good over and gets Raina, who anticipates a short ball and gets a yorker on his leg stump. Live Cricket Score: India 168/3 | Overs 24 | BATSMEN: Ajinkya Rahane 75(51), Suresh Raina 8(8)   | Tahir comes in to bowl and Raina finally reads him for the first time in series. Live Cricket Score: India 161/3 | Overs 23 | BATSMEN: Ajinkya Rahane 75(51), Suresh Raina 1 (2)   | As expected, there’s a bowling change. Rabada is brought into the attack and he strikes immediately. Dhawan is gone and the partnership has been broken. Amla takes a great catch diving to his left and injures himself in the process. Suresh Raina is the new batsman in the middle. OUT! S Dhawan c Amla b K Rabada 60 (59)

Live Cricket Score: India 151/2 | Overs 22 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 60(58), Ajinkya Rahane 66(48) | Rahane smacks Tahir for two maximums in the over. India continue with their upward trend. 14 coming off the over. AB might well be thinking of a bowling change here.

Live Cricket Score: India 137/2 | Overs 21 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 59(57), Ajinkya Rahane 53(43) | Behardien’s over brings Rahane’s fifty. He’s been in prime form in this series. It’s now time to convert the starts into a big one. Both batsmen well set on a deck that is still good to bat.

Live Cricket Score: India 128/2 | Overs 20 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 57(55), Ajinkya Rahane 47(39) | Tahir continues from the other end. Nine runs come from the over, including the sweep by Dhawan that went past the boundary.

The required run-rate has gone past 10 runs an over. It’s a monumental task for India but good thing is they are getting a move on. It’s drinks break now. Can India create history?

Live Cricket Score: India 90/2 | Overs 15 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 35(40), Ajinkya Rahane 30(24) | Another good over for India, four single and Dhawan bisects the short third man and backward point for a boundary.

Live Cricket Score: India 82/2 | Overs 14 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 29(37), Ajinkya Rahane 28(21) | Miller drops Dhawan. Steyn’s misfortune continues and it’s a single. Rahane is clearly targetting Steyn here. Second ball of the over and he tonks it to long-on for a boundary and the fourth ball is beautifully driven for a four. 11 from the over.

Live Cricket Score: India 71/2 | Overs 13 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 27(35), Ajinkya Rahane 19(17) | Behardien to continue and Rahane gets a chance here off the third ball. Rahane lofts one to deep square-leg but Dean Elgar doesn’t get there on time. It was a chance. Rahane again gets in a brilliant dive to avoid getting runout this time. AB gets a direct throw at the stumps but Rahane has made it

Live Cricket Score: India 66/2 | Overs 12 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 25(32), Ajinkya Rahane 16(14) | Dhawan and Rahane are slowly moving on with things here. The required run-rate has almost neared 10. Steyn is back in the attack. After three quite overs, Rahane is turning it on in 12th over which is being bowled by Steyn. Rahane pulls the third ball of Steyn’s over past mid-wicket for a boundary and follows that up with another near the long leg region.

Live Cricket Score: India 45/2 | Overs 8 | BATSMEN: Shikhar Dhawan 19(21), Ajinkya Rahane 1(1) | Despite not middling it, Kohli finds the second tier as he pull a Rabada short one for a six. Live Cricket Score: India 8/0 | Overs 1 | BATSMEN: Rohit Sharma 8(6), Shikhar Dhawan 0(0) | Dale Steyn starts off. Rohit Sharma on strike. Leans into the shot and goes past cover to bring up his first ODI runs at Wankhede and follows that with a classy flick as it races past the man at deep square leg

INNINGS BREAK: One witnessed an absolute carnage by South Africans at the Wankhede Stadium. They put up 438 on the board and it’s the highest score ever scored in India. It’s also the second time three batsmen have scored hundreds in an innings. South Africa did the same earlier this year against West Indies when AB scored the fastest hundred. De Villiers got his hundred from 57 balls this time and du Plessis and de Kock were the other centurions. Indian bowlers were absolutely clobbered and you can read Shiamak Unwalla’s innings report here: Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers ravage India as South Africa reach 438/4 in 5th ODI at Mumbai

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 438/4 | Overs 50 | BATSMEN: David Miller 22 (12), Dean Elger 5 (2) | Harbhajan will bowl the last over with Behardien on strike. A rank bad short ball and the batsman pull it over mid-wicket boundary for a six! Another short ball, Behardien goes for the pull and is caught by Raina at the mid-wicket. Dean Elgar comes in and straightway thumps the first ball past the bowler for a boundary. This seems like a video-game cricket match! The over ends with 1,2 and 1. And SA end up with 438. It’s the highest score ever put up in India.

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 424/3 | Overs 49 | BATSMEN: David Miller 19 (10), Farhaan Behardien 10 (8) | Bhuvi to continue and Miller on strike. This is some poor bowling. Three balls and three boundaries. Short and clobbered through mid-wicket, another short one and this time pulled through deep square leg fence and the third one is short and wide outside off-stump and Miller plays it in the third man region for another boundary. Miller gets a single off the fourth ball and now Behardien pulls another short one over square-leg. Bhuvi has now gone for 100 runs! And it’s 20 runs off the over.

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 404/3 | Overs 48 | BATSMEN: David Miller 6 (6), Farhaan Behardien 3 (6) | Mishra to Behardien — 0, 0 ,1. That could have been the first wicket for Mishra but Raina drops it at long-off. Such a shame. Four more from the over and Mishra finishes with 10-0-78-0. Five runs from his over and it means 450 will be tough for South Africans.

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 399/3 | Overs 47 | BATSMEN: David Miller 4 (4), Farhaan Behardien 1 (2) | With a single Millers gets AB on strike. It’s now a wide from Bhuvi. These are just free runs. Now AB gets his 10th six, and his 11th comes next with a shot over point. That’s why they call him the best batsman in the world! Now Bhuvi gets him in a similar fashion like Chennai. Short slower ball, AB looks to pull, edges it to Dhoni. Brilliant knock. Behardien walks in and it’s 15 from the over. OUT! AB de Villiers c MS Dhoni b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 119 (61)

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 384/2 | Overs 46 | BATSMEN: AB de Villiers 107 (58), David Miller 3 (3) | Miller takes a single off the first ball and AB hits the second one over cover for four, follows it up with a single. It’s been a brilliant knock to say the least. Read: Du Plessis retires hurt for 133

RETIRED HURT: F du Plessis 133 (115)

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 340/2 | Overs 43 | BATSMEN: Faf du Plessis 123 (110) , AB de Villiers 78 (48) | Du Plessis on strike and Akshar to bowl this over and the first ball sails out of the ground for a six. Rohit Sharma, who is playing his first ODI at Wankhede puts a good dive to stop that boundary from de Villiers. But it’a matter of time, de Villiers knows there’s no one at the deep-midwicket and he lifts it over the infield for a boundary. Runs coming easily. 350 looks minimum at the moment!

Live Cricket Score: South Africa 226/2 | Overs 33 | BATSMEN: Faf du Plessis 71 (83) , AB de Villiers 18 (15)  | Kohli continues and the over goes — 1,1,2,1,4 and o. Faf picks the fifth one over mid-wicket for a boundary.

It’s Amla and de Kock opening the batting and Bhuvneshwar has the first new ball. First ball, dot — fuller on the leg-stump, de Kock defends. It’s a big shout for leg-before on the third ball but the ball is doing a bit too much. Five dot ball and Bhuvneshwar bowls all of them in the leg-stump. First run on the board comes with a leg-stump wide. De Kock plays a back-foot flick, Harbhajan dives at mid-on and it beats him. First boundary for South Africa.

TOSS: South Africa won the toss and elected to bat. AB says that it’s the final game and therefore he will like to bat and he wait, he says he might bowl today. Is there something this man can’t do? Dhoni says he would have batted too but the World Cup final 2011 chase would still be fresh on his mind. India are playing the same side while South Africa have got in Dean Elgar and Kyle Abbott, in place of Aaron Phangiso and Chris Morris.

South Africa, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals for the most part. Wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock scored a majority of runs in the first 10 overs, before falling seven runs short of what would have been his sixth ODI fifty. Skipper AB de Villiers struck his 22nd ODI century to propell the South Africans towards the target, although he was the only one to put up a fight whatsoever. South Africa had no chance of chasing the target down following his dismissal, as South Africa finished on 264 for nine after 50 overs. PREVIEW: India vs South Africa 2015, 5th ODI at Mumbai
