Hello and welcome to the live blog of the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali. I, Vishal Mehra, will bring all the intriguing stats from the archive as well funny posts from the social media universe.

Sri Lanka did the near-unthinkable in the series opener of the three-match ODIs. Electing to bowl, Thisara Perera and co. restricted India’s tall batting line-up to 112. Had MS Dhoni not scored 65, No. 2 ranked India could have been bowled out for less than 50. Suranga Lakmal, the chief tormentor, was ably supported by Angelo Mathews and Nuwan Pradeep. In reply, Sri Lanka completed the formalities to trounce India by 7 wickets with 186 balls to spare, their biggest win in terms of balls left against India in their own den.

The tides have turned against India. Nonetheless, they were in similar situations against Australia (in Tests) and New Zealand (in ODIs) this year. In absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will be expected to lift the boys and stage a strong comeback. They may, however, make some changes to the line-up that took the field in Dharamsala.
