Saurashtra are currently sitting on a massive lead with their first innings not even over as yet, reaching a score of 491 for the loss of nine wickets after 122 overs, with a 353-run lead over J&K’s first meagre innings score of 138. The 10th wicket partnership adds 46 runs today before it is broken by Mohammed Mudhasir by getting Jaydev Unadkat caught by Ian Chauhan for 92. Jaydev struck nine boundaries and four sixes in his knock. Saurashtra have taken a first innings lead of 359 runs. J&K have to clear off this deficit when they come to bat in their second innings. Resuming at an overnight score of 150 for the loss of two wickets, Saurashtra added another 341 runs, riding on some useful contributions from Samarth Vyas (53) and Chirag Jani (36), besides Jackson and Unadkat. For J&K, Z Sofi (3 for 51) and V K Dogra (3 for 137) were the highest wicket-taker with three wickets each, while Sameer Ali (2 for 111) took two and Parvez Rasool snapped one.

Saurashtra are in tremendous form as they are topping the table with 29 points gathered from the 4 won and 1 drawn matches, while Jammu and Kashmir are third from the bottom with 9 points from 4 wins and 5 draws. Jammu and Kashmir drew their last match with Goa while Saurashtra faced a humiliating defeat in their last encounter and are expected to bounce back. With the performance till date, they will likely qualify from group C.
