Colombo: Sep 17, 2012

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma‘s half-centuries helped India set a daunting target of 186 against Pakistan in their ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Kohli and Rohit added 127 runs for the third wicket, scoring runs easily all over the park.

Kohli remained unbeaten on 75.

Rohit fell after scoring a fluent 56, which included six hits to the fence and two huge sixes, from 40 balls.

The two Indian batsmen joined forces after India lost openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir in quick succession.

Sehwag and Gambhir provided India a blistering start, adding 41 runs from 4.4 overs after skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat.

Pakistan got their first breakthrough when opener Gambhir missed a pull shot off Umar Gul, with the ball taking an inside edge and crashing into his wickets.

Sehwag clobbered four hits to the fence and a six in his quick knock of 26, which came from 14 balls.

The right-handed Indian opener fell to Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal in the sixth over, caught by Mohammad Hafeez.

Brief Scores: India 185 for 3 from 20 overs (Virat Kohli 75*, Rohit Sharma 56, Virender Sehwag 26; Saeed Ajmal 2 for 22) vs Pakistan
