Younis Khan completed his third consecutive century, and was well supported by Azhar Ali, who too completed his century. Pakistan look to pile on runs on the second morning.

Younis scored his 27th Test ton, thereby achieving the distinction of reaching the milestone in his 165th innings, making him the joint fifth fastest to the mark along with Ricky Ponting. For Australia, as many as eight bowlers tried their luck with the cherry but weren’t able to find much success. The final session, which was 33-over long yielded no wicket, and saw the likes Steven Smith, Michael Clarke, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell bowl some overs to give their regular bowlers some rest. Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez had got Pakistan to a slow but steady start. Both openers were looking in good touch, but unfortunately lost their wickets due to a lapse of concentration. Australia are seeking to make a comeback after being handed a 221-run defeat in the first Test, while Pakistan would like to win their first Test series against Australia in 20 years.
