Good Morning, सुप्रभात! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day Two of Round 9 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17, as we bring to you the live updates from all the matches. This round will see as many as 26 teams clash against each other to battle for domestic four-Day supremacy. Mumbai have qualified from Group A, while Jharkhand, dark horses of the tournament, have qualified from Group B alongside Karnataka. Group C is still wide open, with as many as 6 teams in contention for those two quarter-final slots as well as promotion to the top tier.

Day One of the Ranji Trophy Round 9 has again given the gist of how the forthcoming three days will probably go by. Gujarat opener Priyank Panchal became the first batsman from Gujarat to aggregate 1000 runs or more in a Ranji season. He scored his century against Tamil Nadu at the KSCA Stadium in Belagavi. He has been in phenomenal form this season as this is his third hundred in as many matches, having already scored a double-century against Mumbai and a triple-century against Punjab in the previous rounds. In the other match between Tripura and Haryana saw as many as 14 wickets tumble at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Haryana were bowled out for 231 as Manishankar Murasingh finished with the figures of 3 for 53. In reply to Haryana’s total, Tripura are struggling at 70 on board for the loss of 4 wickets. Harshal Patel has taken 2 wickets so far as Haryana are still trailing by 161 runs.

In another encounter between Chhattisgarh and J & K, the aforementioned team is in spot of bother as they are reeling at 217 runs for the loss of 6 wickets despite a century from middle order batsman Amandeep Khare.

In the other clash between Karnataka and Maharashtra, pacer and skipper Vinay Kumar took 5 wickets while conceding just 46 runs as they bundled Maharashtra for just 163.

Some of the games in Round 9 started off after the lunch break as majority of the grounds had fog issues, especially in Delhi-NCR region. Despite all this, Ranji Trophy games have definitely given some cracking action to viewers on Day One and the same is expected on Day Two. This is the last round of India’s 83rd edition of domestic season as the knock-outs will begin soon!
