Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Ranji Trophy 2017-18 quarter-finals. We have now headed to the fifth day’s play in the competition. Karnataka have marched to the semi-final. They registered a convincing innings and 20-run victory over Mumbai at Nagpur on Day Four. The remaining three games are still on.
At Jaipur: Bengal have taken a massive 613-run lead over defending champions Gujarat. It’s an end of a dream run for the Parthiv Patel-led unit. Writtick Chatterjee is batting on 213. Abhimanyu Easwaran scored hundreds in both innings. Expect an overnight declaration from Bengal and they will be eyeing an outright win.
At Vijaywada: Delhi need another 209 runs to make it to the semis. They have 10 wickets in hand. Madhya Pradesh managed 283 in their second innings. Harprit Singh, who slammed an unbeaten century in the first innings, top scored in the second innings with 78. Delhi look favourites at the moment but one never knows as ours is a very funny game.
At Surat: Vidarbha too continued to pile miseries on first-time quart-finalist Kerala. Skipper Faiz Fazal and Apoorv Wankhede scored centuries to stretch their lead beyond 500. Another overnight declaration in bid for outright win is expected too.
