Pallekele: Sep 29, 2012

Sri Lanka will aim to keep their winning run intact as they take on the dangerous West Indies in the ICC World T20 Super Eights Group 1 clash at Pallekele on Saturday.

After notching up contrasting wins in their opening Super Eight fixtures, a stern test awaits both the Windies and Sri Lanka as both eye a semi-final berth when they square off against each other.

West Indies edged out defending champions England by 15 runs in an exciting finish, while Sri Lanka won in dramatic fashion after a ‘Super Over’ was required to settle the clash with New Zealand last night.

Both Sri Lanka and West Indies are known to raise the bar when it comes to performing at big-ticket ICC events and it would be interesting to see which of the two teams manages to go a notch higher in the battle tomorrow.

Both the sides know the conditions well but the Islanders could bank heavily on the home advantage.

Teams:

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (c), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Jeevan Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Nuwan Kulasekara, Rangana Herath, Lasith Malinga, Ajantha Mendis

West Indies: Johnson Charles, Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy (c), Andre Russell, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Sunil Narine, Ravi Rampaul, Fidel Edwards
